Chapter 2: A Warriors Return

(3 months after Vejiita's takeover)

The lone warrior stood, shame and anger dwelt within him. He should've came back to earth when he was given the chance; instead he didn't, and Chikyuu was turned to hell.

Goku had never felt such guilt in his life. Maybe he could've stopped Vejiita before he made the wish. "Damnit!" he muttered, "I'm such a faliure."

The planet seemed dark and empty. In three months, Vejiita had done much. He had enslaved most of the people of Chikyuu, and had established an alliance with many greedy, and terrified planets. Chikyuu was now home to several races from different planets. Only a handful of natives were still on the planet as slaves; and rebels.

Goku knew about the city under Capsule Corp. grounds; he was sure everyone was there, and if Gohan was alive then so was he. But Goku didn't know if he could face them; they probably hated him for leaving them. It was his fault; he must pay the penalty.

The past three months had been hell for Bulma. She felt like a large part of her had been ripped from her, leaving a dark, empty void. She had only one thing to fill that void with, her child.

At first, she had considered an abortion; fortunately, her parents were able to talk her out of it. Bulma was thankful for that. She loved this baby, as much as she still loved Vejiita. Of course, the child did make life difficult.

For a while, most of her friends shunned her, Gohan being the only one who wasn't angry at her, in fact he was excited. After a while, they accepted her again, "It's not your fault," Krullin once said, "Not one person can be blamed for this."

Only Yamucha could not forgive her. Bulma had thought he had gotten over their break-up, he seemed more than happy at that time, perhaps the young warrior had not accepted things as well as they had both thought.

They lived life much like they had before, it was a rather large underground city that was modeled much like the lost Satan City above.

Though, it wasn't as bright. The citizens could not forget those above, the hell they were living. So, many of the younger citizens formed a rebel orginazation to help free the oppressed above. They had made several missions to the surface, freeing slaves; both of Chikyuu heratige and of other heratige. The city expanded, as did the orginaztion.

Bulma had mixed feelings about this situation. She supported their efforts whole heartedly, she even went on one mission when it first started, but now she could see consequences arising. Vejiita was determined to find the rebels and destroy them. She could not stand the thought of Vejiita finding their where-abouts, they had fought so hard to stay out of his control; the rebels could be the key to him finding them.

Life was hard; she could not bear the heavy burdens placed on her, but she had to continue on. She didn't know what good would come of it; to defeat Vejiita was near impossible. The people looked up to her; however, she seemed strong for them. They needed her to be strong so they could be strong. Bulma; however, was not sure she could be strong without Vejiita.

"It sounds like Chikyuu is becoming a waste of your time, Vejiita. You should leave, come rule from another planet, one in a solar system that actually inhabbits life!"

Vejiita turned a glared at the screen, "How dare you even consider ordering me around Kaltz! Chikyuu has not yet completely submitted to me! I will not leave until I have everything I want form this planet!"

Kaltz went pale, "I was not ordering you sire, I was...er...just suggesting! Of course the rebels on Chikyuu must be surpressed, I understand completely!"

Vejiita smirked, "Good. Now Kaltz, don't contact me again. I'll get in touch with you when I am ready to leave."

Kaltz gulped and nodded, "Yes sire!"

The face on the screen disappeared and Vejiita sighed in releif. "Fifth damn transmission telling me to leave!" he muttered, "I'm no where near done here. Kakarott has just returned, and the rebels are still out there and," he added, smirking again, "so is she."

Vejiita never admitted it to anyone, but finding Bulma was top priority on his list. He still wanted that blue eyed native that had caught his eye the moment he first laid eyes on her. "I should have taken her when I had the chance." he cursed, "I never thought she'd hide. Little coward!"

He frowned, the emotions he felt where new to him, so he tried not to dwell on them. Perhaps they'd disappear after he had her and took her off fo Chikyuu, "Yes," he assured himself, "That's all I have to do."

Goku stumbled through the ruins of Satan City, anger coursing through his veins. "Kami," he muttered, "What have I done?"

Suddenly, his sixth sense kicked in, he turned and faced his opponent. Vejiita smirked back, "It's about time the Super Saiyajin returned." his tone mocking, "All of Chikyuu wondered why you weren't their to save it!"

Goku glared, "I know I can't defeat you, but I'll die trying!"

Vejiita burst out laughing, "Finally, you admit I am stronger! Oh, I will defeat you, but I won't kill you! What fun is that? You must suffer with your son and chrome dome where ever they are hidding."

Goku went pale, Gohan was alive. 'Thank Kami.'

Goku took a battle stance, as did Vejiita. "Oh, I'm going to enjoy this!" Vejiita said.

Gohan shot up from his studies, "Father!" he whispered, ChiChi turned in shock.

"Gohan?" she quiered, her voice hoarse.

"Father's back!" Gohan cried, "He's fighting Vejiita!"

ChiChi felt dizzy, "Goku," she murmured, "Please don't kill yourself, I need you, we all need you!"

Goku turned, he heard her, felt her, "ChiChi." he murmured, not paying any attention to the oncoming blow.

He was knocked, to the ground, he was no longer to keep his Super Saiyajin up. He could barely move. 'She needs me, she doesn't hate me.'

Vejiita smirked, he was enjoying this. Well, he was. It seemed Kakarott had no desire to fight anymore. "Well," he said, "since you seem to be done, I'll leave now; but please, if you ever want to do this agian, let me know."

He kicked Goku hard in the side, and then flew off to his camp to relish in his victory.

Goku stumbled through the city; ignoring the pain, only focusing on finding ChiChi and Gohan.

Finally, he found the ruins of Caplsule Corp. he stumbled over to the camoflauged enterance, it opened and he stopped, staring in wonder. As his wife and son came out, smiles on their faces and their arms open. He stumbled towards them and smiled, collapsing in his wife's arms.
