Chapter 4: Explanations

Goku felt his sixth sense kick in; he looked at his son, who was supposed to be studying, he too had felt it. "Gohan, stay here." Goku ordered, unsure what this new powerful being was. Gohan nodded reluctantly, but obeyed. Goku slipped out and headed towards the main doors to speak with whom ever was on watch.

He had stopped by several of the Z senshi's houses to get their opinions, none could discern if this being was good or evil. He continued alone, when he reached the gate, the guard on duty was in a panic. "What's going on?" Goku demanded.

The man turned, "There's a young boy out there!" he pointed to the video camera, Goku studied the face, it was familiar but he couldn't place it. "He wants in. Aya's with him, but she's unconcious so we don't have her story."

Goku nodded grimmly, none of the others were with them, they must of been captured. So, the question became, was this man part of those who captured them?

Goku studied him more carefully; he wore a Capsule Corp. jacket which could've easily been taken from one of the rebels. What bothered Goku, was his face. It was set in stone, like he was angry, but his eyes seemed so sad. Finally, Goku decided it was time to speak. "Who are you!" he demanded through the intercom.

The boy seemed shocked, "Son?" he asked, he contemplated it for a moment and then answered the question, "I am not the enemy, I am an ally, Goku. I will tell you this; however, I am part Saiyajin."

Vejiita stared at the screen as the soldiers monitering the little bitch's movements seemed to confer with each other to see if they all agreed. Vejiita's thoughts were inturrupted when one of them spoke up, "Your majesty, it seems that she has stopped outside of the old Capsule Corp."

Vejiita nodded, "That's obvious, but that can't be their base, it's a wide open area. We'll wait and see what else happens."

The gaurds nodded. Vejiita returned to his early train of thoughts. There was somebody with the girl, someone fairly powerful. He had just appeared out of no where. Vejiita smirked, a new challenge perhaps. He needed one, something to entertain him for a while. 'Little Bulma,' he thought, 'you can wait until I've defeated this new warrior.'

Trunks followed closely, observing the city. It was like his mother had told him. He couldn't remember the city, they had moved out of it when he was only a few months old.

Goku turned to make sure the man; no, young boy, was staying in line. He could sense that he was sad, something was bothering him. "What's wrong?" Goku asked. Trunks didn't seem to hear him; he was remembering his time, his life.

Trunks remembered living with his mother, the Z senshi, and the rebels who had escaped the masssacre in a remote area. They had lived there for years, in peace; until the leader of the rebels, Aya, became restless.

Trunks had always admired Aya, she was strong, both physically and mentally. Aya, however, despised Trunks because of his heritage. Shortly after the Massacre, Vejiita had killed Aya's father, as a punishment. Aya blamed Trunks because she could do nothing to Vejiita at the time.

Aya, and the rebels attacked Vejiita's base; they were captured and exicuted. One rebel escaped, only to lead Vejiita to their camp. Vejiita, not wanting to wait any longer, killed the Z senshi and lone rebel. He was about to kill Trunks, when his mother intervened.

Bulma agreed to leave Chikyuu with Vejiita in exchange for Trunks life; Trunks pleaded with his mother. This was when Vejiita first learned of his son. Bulma refused to listen to his pleas, and the two left Trunks alone. Bulma had made one silent request, "save your father."

Trunks was brought back to the present by a hand on his shoulder; Goku had stopped, and was giving him a concerned look. It took a moment for Trunks to realize he was crying.

"Your majesty!" one of the guards shouted, "We've located the rebel hide out!"

Vejiita jerked from the window, and stared at the warrior who was out of breath from running, Vejiita frowned, "Well?"

The guard blushed, "Um, their hide out is somewhere underneath the old Capsule Corp."

It was silent for a moment, Vejiita turned and stared out the window, his face was expressionless. It made perfect sense, of course the natives would have such a hide away, Bulma was always prepared for such circumstances. Slowly, a smirk formed on his lips. "Assemble an army, we'll leave at once."

The soldier seemed shocked, "An army?" he questioned, "Is that necessary? It won't take much to capture the rebels!"

Vejiita scowled, "I intend to do more then just capture the rebels, they must be taught a lesson. I want their entire camp massacred! I want their families killed, I want them begging for forgiveness, and when they ask, we'll make them slaves after they've been tortured! Understood?"

The guard swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded, "Of course, sire!"

Vejiita turned, "Then don't second guess my orders agian, or you'll share the fate of the rebels!"

Trunks sat patiently with Goku as they waited for the other Z senshi to come. He glanced back at Aya, who was laying on a couch, he smiled she seemed so at peace; he could never remember Aya looking so calm. Of course, his mother told him that after her father was killed, she was never really the same; she was alone.

'Don't worry Aya, I'll save your father.' he vowed. Suddenly, the girl stirred. Both Goku and Trunks got up, but Goku stopped Trunks, giving him a look that told Trunks he hadn't gained his complete trust yet. Goku went over to Aya and helped her up, "Are you okay Aya?"

Aya nodded; looking around, trying to get her bearings strait. As her eyes traveled across the room, they fell on Trunks. Her eyes went wide, and then they turned to a glare. Trunks, for some odd reason, blushed. "What's going on?" she demanded, her eyes never leaving him.

"Well," Goku started, "we don't know much yet, we're waiting for the others to arrive. What did you see?"

Aya thought for a moment, trying to remember the earlier events, "Are mission at Vejiita's base failed, all of us were captured." Goku nodded solemnly, he had expected this, "Vejiita tried to get me to give out our information, and," she hesitated, "information about Bulma."

Goku seemed surprised, "What did you tell him?"

Aya shook her head, "Nothing, he was going to kill me, but I managed to escape. As I was running, this guy" she pointed to Trunks, "appeared from nowhere. He was in some kind of ship with a Capsule Corp. logo."

Goku gazed back at Trunks, "What do you have to do with Capsule Corp?"

Trunks averted his eyes, "I'd like to explain when everyone gets here. It'll be easier that way."

Goku nodded, satisfied. He studdied the boy closer, as did Aya. Suddenly, without thinking, Goku shouted, "Vejiita!"

That made everyone in the room jump, "He's here?" Aya screamed.

Goku blushed, "No, gomen. I mean, you look like Vejiita!" Aya studied his face, she had to agree.

Trunks was going to explain, but the door opened and the Z senshi arrived. Trunks rose from his chair, grinning. It had been so long since he had seen any of these men. Krullin, Yamucha, he stopped, turning his gaze to the boy. "Gohan." he whispered.

Goku came between Trunks and his son, "Are you ready to explain?"

Trunks looked around the room, she wasn't there yet. Suddenly, the door burst open and she ran in, "Sorry!" she exclaimed, "I had a hard time getting Trunks to sleep."

Trunks gazed at his mother, it had seemed like so long since he had last seen her. She looked only a little younger, a little more full of life. Vejiita's decision hadn't taken its toll yet.

Bulma studied the young boy, a somewhat stern look on her face, he looked so much like Vejiita, with a touch of herself. After a moment of reflection, she quietly asked, "Trunks?"

He nodded, as the rest of the group tried to understand what they had meant. "What do you want with Trunks?" Krullin asked.

Bulma rolled her eyes, "Baka." she muttered, "This IS Trunks!"

They were speachless, for a moment, then Goku spoke, "I didn't think kids could grow up so fast!"

Bulma couldn't help but smile lightly; Trunks smiled along with her. Aya studied the smile, it was warm, like Bulma's, he seemed so polite, so kind. How could he be realated to Vejiita? "How could he be Trunks Bulma?"

Bulma shook her head and shrugged her shoulders, looking to Trunks for the explination. Trunks sighed, "Well, it's a long story..."
