Warning: Nothing really, just a little mush.

Notes: Hey, thanks to all who’ve read and commented about this story. Your kind words have always kept me going. Also, I have no intention of writing a sequel. If that disappoints you, I’m sorry but I have too many other ideas and I really don’t have a desire to continue this any longer.

Gohan watched from the shadows of the throne room as every high-ranking Saiyajin and Batijin bowed and pledged their loyalty to the Royal Family of the Neo-Saiyajin Empire. He stared at Bulma’s face; it radiated joy as she flashed a brilliant smile to her new subjects. He frowned as he saw her glance lovingly at Vejiita. He would never forgive him for his past, but Bulma made him promise to be civil and understanding.

The boy, Trunks, on the other hand was different. He was certainly Vejiita’s son, strong and proud, but he had his mother’s intelligence and open heart. Maybe Bulma was right, perhaps the boy would change Vejiita, give him a second chance. He had no desire to stay and wait for Vejiita to change--for the Saiyajin’s to change. He wanted nothing to do with the damned Saiyajins.

He slid deeper in the shadows; he would never come back. Bulma had asked him to stay; even Vejiita opened an invitation for the boy who had an ‘honorable Saiyajin heritage’. But he did not care about his Saiyajin heritage; he didn’t have one. He would go to the farthest depths of the universe to escape the Saiyajins. He did not care what happened to them, or their King and Prince. He wasn’t one of them and he never would be.

Casting one more glance at Bulma, he carefully disappeared into the shadows. No one noticed him leave not even Bulma who had been intent on keeping an eye on the boy. He simply vanished without a trace.

Goku waited patiently at the foot of Snake’s way for the newest arrival. He glanced back at Kao-samma. "Are you sure a clone would be admitted to heaven?" he asked.

"Of course, I’m not an idiot you know. This Saiyajin was more than a clone-he had a soul. You could say he was Bardock’s second chance. Since it is impossible for one body to have two souls of his own, Bardock’s soul in Hell was destroyed. Bardock has only one soul now, and he will be here soon."

Goku smiled and returned his attention back to snake way. A tiny dot could be seen from a distance; it grew in size as it came closer at a great speed. Goku felt his heart jump as the dot became a recognizable figure. Finally, Bardock slowed to a jog and stopped all together when he recognized his son. "Kakarott." he called softly.

Goku gave him a toothy grin and waved excitedly, "Father." He called, "Its nice to finally meet you."

Bardock smiled, "Yes," he murmured, "It’s nice to meet as well, my son."

After the ceremony and feast, Bulma tucked her son in and told him one of her favorite fairy tales until he drifted off into a peaceful slumber. She lightly kissed his forehead and brushed his lavender hair from his face and smiled to herself.

A soft, dark tone scolded her from the doorway, "You’re making him weaker everyday… he muttered, half angry and half amused. She turned to him and chuckled slightly, "and then he’ll turn out like Kakarott’s brat." she finished the sentence for him, "I don’t think that would be bad at all." she smiled, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I’ll miss him." She whispered.

"He was an ungrateful brat that cared nothing about his true heritage. He even called his grandfather a low-life." He growled and lifted her off the ground and carried her to their chambers next door. Bulma buried her face in his shoulder; "You called Bardock that as well." Vejiita sighed, "Perhaps he had more honor than I thought."

He placed her on the bed and laid down next to her. He lightly kissed her lips as he pulled her body against his. They hadn’t spoken of the past in weeks; Bulma hadn’t even mentioned Nameksei. Finally, she whispered softly in his ear, "You lied to me." she breathed, "On Nameksei, you told me they were dead."

Vejiita’s face darkened as he gripped her tightly, "I did what I had to." he hissed, "Forget Nameksei."

She sighed softly, "I was merely stating a fact." she stated, "I’m not angry anymore."

Vejiita nodded, almost understanding. After eight years with her, she was still a mystery. Every day he found another piece to her complicated puzzle and he found more reasons to adore her. He smiled to himself as she buried her face into his neck and drifted off to sleep; as long as he had her, he had everything he needed.

Fin

* * * * *

I’m finished! I’m working on Chapter 4 of "Dreams of Thee" and the first chapter of its continuation, "Ashes to Ashes". So keep an eye out for both of them, and possibly something new as well. (I know, I should really wait until I’ve finished with one project before I start another, but...). Also, coming sometime in the distant future may be a web page! Yeah! Plan on sometime late next fall…
