Part 4: Bati-sei

The once mighty warrior fell to the ground, straining to stay alive. Goku was alone, after the wish was made, Gohan and the others returned to earth, leaving only Freeza and himself. But he wasn't strong enough; he hadn't been able to reach the level needed to defeat Freeza. Now, he lay at the feet of Freeza and gasped his final plea.

Freeza's cruel grin returned, "It seems I've won this battle." he teased, "I have much to do now. Your son and the Namek-jin are still alive, and so is our favorite prince. So much to do, it's just a shame you won't be alive to see it. But I'm sure they'll give you a good seat in Hell."

Goku closed his eyes and shed a single tear as death closed in around him.

Bulma stared blankly at the stars, they were so far from anything. She sighed as she stood up. She turned and quietly walked past a silent Vejiita; he seemed to be contemplating as well. Making no attempt to speak to him, she walked down the ladder into the lower part of the ship. She smiled when she saw the mess of food and debris. "So much like Son." she whispered, tears lining her eyes. "I should clean this up later."

She kicked a few things out of her way and made her way to the broken bed. She chuckled, "I guess my father didn't consider Goku's weight." She fell onto the mattress, pulled the covers around her, and began to cry.

Vejiita had followed her, silently. She didn't seem to be aware of his presence. He watched her cry herself to sleep. She was key to his plan, her genius was exactly what he needed. Sighing, he sat down in a recliner across the room. "Sleep well, little one." he whispered, "Tomorrow, your hell begins."

Gohan searched desperately for any signs of her. Pushing through the Namek-jins. "Bulma!" he called out, "Where are you?"

He thought back to Namek-sei. His father had ordered Piccolo and him to find Bulma and leave. They sat out to search for her, but found no trace. They went to find Goku's ship, but it had vanished also. It was then the wish pulled them back to Chikyuu. Gohan had hoped she would be there as well, but his hopes were groundless.

There was only one possibility, she was with Vejiita. Goku had cursed, saying he had felt Vejiita leave Namek-sei. Had he taken Bulma as well? Gohan gazed up at the sky and made a solemn vow, "I'll find you Bulma."

Bulma's body ached as she rose from bed. The tears she had shed took their toll on her body. She was exhuasted, even after sleeping through the night. She glanced around the room, looking for signs of a Saiya-jin prince. When she was satisfied that he was not present, she went to take a shower.

The warm water felt good as the droplets massaged her skin. She let the water beat down on her, she absently turned the water up to as hot as it would go; she didn't seem to notice. She stepped out and wrapped a towel around her, the steam creating a wall around her. Cursing, she gropped around the bathroom until she found her capsules. She took out a pair of jeans and a sweat-shirt. After she had finished dressing she turned around and came face-to-face with Vejiita.

She opened her mouth to scream, but Vejiita's gloved hand silenced it. "Come with me." he said, as if he didn't relize he had done something wrong.

Bulma wasn't about to let it slide; however. "How long had you been there?" she demanded.

Vejiita growled, "I didn't see anything." he lied, "Although, I'm sure there's nothing to see anyways." Bulma bit her tounge to keep back the obsenities that were running through her mind. "Now," he continued, "There's much to be done."

Curious, Bulma followed Vejiita up to the terminal. "What?" she asked when he pointed to the chair.

Vejiita growled, "Where is this ship headed?"

"Chikyuu of course."

Vejiita muttered something in a language Bulma didn't recognize, "Change the coordinates at once." he ordered.

Bulma went pale, "Why?" she wondered, "You don't have to stay on Chikyuu, you can have the ship as soon as we land."

Vejiita shook his head, "That's not how it's going to work." he smiled, "I have plans that involve you." Bulma took a step back, "If you do everything that I say, you can return to Chikyuu soon enough."

Bulma began to tremble, "What exactly do you want me to do?"

Vejitta chuckled, "Good girl." he purred, "First, I want you to change these coordinates. Don't try anything either, I may not be able to read your number system, but if we land anywhere other than where I want, you're as good as dead. Understood?"

Bulma nodded, and sat down in the pilot's seat and typed in each coordinate he gave her. With that done, one question tugged at Bulma's mind. "Where are we going?" she asked.

Vejiita was thoughtful, it was a simple question, "Bati-sei." was his simple reply.

Bulma sighed, vexed, "Could you elaborate, please."

Vejiita glowered, "You know enough." with that, he turned on his heel and stalked away. Bulma's eyes followed the Saiya-jin as he stopped in front of the gravity machine. He turned to her "What is this?" he asked.

"It's a gravity machine," she replied, "It controls the gravity inside the ship. Goku used it to train on his way to Namek-sei."

Vejiita snorted, "How does this thing work?"

"Whoa!" Bulma cried, "I don't know the schematics of the ship, you can't turn it on unless you want me to be a pancake!"

Vejiita hiked an eyebrow, "What do you mean. Go somewhere else while I do this."

Bulma groaned, "That's the problem, I don't know if I can. I don't know how much of the ship is affected by the gravity machine. I'd have to get the schematics from my father to find out."

Vejiita shook his head, "That would be a waste of time. When we arrive on Bati-sei, you will build one of these as part of your many duties."

"Speaking of duties," Bulma queried, "What exactly are my duties"

"Haven't you asked enough questions for the day?" Vejiita barked, causing Bulma to take a step back. "You will know what you need to know it time."

Vejiita descended down the ladder, trying to shake her voice from his mind. He journeyed into the bathroom to shower. He stopped as her sweet smell invaded his senses. He had lied earlier, he had been watching her the entire time she was showering.

He hadn't meant for it to happen. She just walked in and he ducked, waiting for an oppurtune time to leave. It wasn't that simple; however. Somehow, she had captivated him. He hadn't realized how long he had been there until she had begun to get dressed. "Fool," he cursed himself, "don't be so weak. You will kill her when you get the chance."

He turned on the water and allowed himself to relax, soon he would be ruler of a great empire and Freeza would lie dead at his feet. The mere thought of this made him chuckle, everything he ever wanted would be at his feet. True, he may never achieve immortality, but he would still rule the universe and give his empire a true heir.

He walked into the bedroom and into the kitchen. He saw Bulma sitting in front of a strange box, frowning. She turned when she saw him, "How long does it take to get to Bati-sei," she asked, "It looks like Goku didn't leave us any food, and Gohan ate all I had."

Vejiita sighed, "I'm not sure, but we should arrive in twelve hours or so."

Bulma groaned and slammed the refrigerator shut. "Well," she sighed, "I guess we won't starve." Vejiita turned, and ascended up the ladder into the upper level of the ship. Bulma watched him leave. Her eyes traveled up and down his beautifully sculpted body, unable to control the rush of desire. She smacked herself outside the head, "Idiot!" she cursed, "Don't think like that!" Still, she could not resist one quick glance as he disappeared up the ladder.

Freeza paced menecingly back-and-forth as the soldiers made their final preperations to the ship. "Lord Freeza," one called, "We are waiting for your command."

Freeza smiled, "Let's leave this shell of a planet at once." Freeza sang, "Let us find shelter in Chikyuu."

* * * * *

Bulma's body was thrown into the ground as the ship impacted. "Thanks for the warning." she muttured, though Vejiita was not there to hear her complaints.

"Woman!" Vejiita cried, "Get your ass up here, we've landed."

"Tell me something I don't already know." she whispered, too afraid to curse him outloud. She climbed up the ladder where Vejiita stood waiting impatiently.

"It's about time," the prince growled, "They're waiting."

Bulma was about to ask who they were, when the door opened and they were greeted by several men. "Ah," one man exclaimed, holding his arms open, "The Saiy-jin no Ouji has returned to us. Tell us, is Freeza dead?"

Vejiita shook his head, "Not yet but I need your help to dig his grave, Dondurma."

The man smiled, "I knew you would come to me someday. We are without a ruler, and the planet would be overjoyed if you assumed the throne." Vejiita nodded, a smile played on his face. The man's eyes traveled to Bulma and the two studied eachother.

He was humanoid; his skin was a pale purple and his eyes a soft appricot, his hair was silver and pulled back into a braid. "Who is this?" he asked.

Vejiita turned and shrugged, "Your assistant--my slave." he replied. Bulma opened her mouth to speak, but the Prince paid her no mind. "Her genius compares to yours alone, Dondurma. You may use her to help you." Dondurma nodded approvingly, "Teach her what you know and report to me." he turned to Bulma, "Here is where all of your questions will be answered."
