Part 2: Uninvited

Vejiita landed next to the cave, "This time," he growled, "there will be no mercy!" He spat obsenities as he marched into the cave, his anger slowly rising. "Shit." he shouted, "where are they.?"

He reached the capsule house and blew the door down, after a surveying the house, it was obvious they had left. "Cowards!" he screamed, his anger finally reaching its peek. The entire cave was leveled in a blink of an eye.

Shooting back into the air, he darted back towards his dragonballs, "When I find you kid," he vowed, "You're going to wish I had killed you sooner!"

Bulma and Gohan huddled against the crevasse wall, praying for safety. Gohan peeled his sweaty body away from the stone and focused on Vejiita's power level. He shuddered when he felt his power, "He's angry." he whispered, "But, he's settled down. He's not looking for us any more."

Bulma sighed in relief, she had no desire to ever see him again. "Do you think its safe if we go and get the dragonball?" she asked.

Gohan nodded, "It's safe, but you're not going. I don't want to take any chances that Vejiita will find us, I'm not sure if I could protect you."

Bulma glared, but held her tongue; she knew very well that he was right. "Then you should go."

Gohan nodded, then a thought hit him, "What about that Guru?" he asked, "That's where Dende was taking Krullin. I wish we knew where he was, we could hide there."

Bulma shook her head, "I don't have a clue where to find this guy. Maybe Dende will come back, but until then I guess we have to stay here." She shuddered at the thought.

Gohan sighed, "Well, I'll hurry back." he waved, and was off.

Bulma collapsed against the wall, "Hurry back." she whispered. She glanced around at her surroundings, there wasn't much to do. She was becoming antsy, "I need to do something to keep me busy." Then, she had an idea.

She took her box of capsules out of her pocket, "Which one?" she questioned herself, "That's it!" She reached for the capsule numbered '21' and tossed it over her shoulder. Smiling to herself, she sat down at her lab. "This will definately keep unwanted Saiya-jins out!"

With a crack of her knuckles and an evil cackle, she set to work.

Vejiita tossed the dragonball alongside the others, he was obviously annoyed. "So close to immortality, yet that brat stole it from me." He slid down to the ground, resting his head against the stone wall. "I have to stay low so Freeza doesn't find me."

He began to think of different ways to insure that the little hybrid died a very slow and painful death. A sudden smile crossed his lips as he thought of the girl. Quite an attractive creature, too fragile for his tastes though. He shook his head, "Why am I even thinking these things?" he wondered aloud, "She dies along with the brat."

He closed his eyes, intending to get some sleep; that's when the it hit. It was the kid again, he smirked, he was close. Floating into the air, he scanned the area, when Gohan came into view Vejiita began to formulate, "He doesn't have the dragonball with him," he noted, "that means he left it with the girl." He smiled cruelly as he headed in the opposite direction Gohan was travaling, "Big mistake kid."

The tyrant gazed out his viewing window on what was, in his opinion, a dreary planet. Most life had been eradicated by his own troops. Freeza was displeased with the faliure of his guards to locate the dragoballs that Vejiita had taken, not even Zarbon had returned. "I think." Freeza said, "It is time to dispatch the Ginyu."

The soldiers became nervous, the Ginyu was deadly and had a reputation of eliminating any soldier they didn't like. "Are you sure, Lord Freeza?" asked a doomed soldier, "Is it neccessary."

Freeza responded by smacking the neck of the soldier with his tail, there was a sickening crack as the bones broke. "I'm quite sure." Freeza said calmly. The soldiers saluted and left to complete their task. Freeza sighed, "Soon, Vejiita, I will finish what I started."

"Voila!" Bulma shouted, "I'm done!" She placed the last of her newest inventions in its proper location on the crevasse wall. "This will stop Vejiita."

Feeling full of herself, Bulma returned to her lab table and made the final touches on the control for the security. She began to think, "What about Gohan?" She glanced around her table, trying to think of ways to protect her friend from the security system. It couldn't hurt him too badly, but still. Her eyes fell on the dragon radar. "That's it!" She picked it up, "Since Gohan's after the dragonball, I'll just follow the signal and turn off the system when he gets close enough!"

Bulma smiled at her own genius and clicked on the dragon radar, the dragonball had yet to move. Sighing, Bulma set the radar down and reached over for the romote, "It won't do me any good if I don't turn this thing on."

Before she could reach the button, a gloved hand grabbed hers, squeezing her wrist tightly. Bulma's eyes followed the arm up and stopped when she met angry, charcoal eyes. "Where is the dragonball bitch?" he demanded. Bulma couldn't speak, her voice caught in her throat. Vejiita tightened his grip, causing her to choke out in pain. "I don't have all day, where is it?"

Finding the strength to speak, Bulma could only speak the truth, "Gohan has it."

Vejiita threw her against the wall, not releasing her, "Liar, I saw him, he doesn't have it!"

"He went to get it," she pleaded, "I swear! When you saw him, he must not have reached it yet!"

Vejiita thought about this for a moment, contemplating her words. Bulma glanced over to her lab table, if only she could get to the remote and activate the security; it could buy her some time to escape. "All right." Vejiita said, "I believe you." Bulma sighed, "We'll just have to wait for him to get back." He released Bulma who absently rubbed her sore wrist. Vejiita frowned: How could any creature be so fragile?

Bulma watched Vejiita carefully, waiting for a chance to grab the remote. He too studied her, curious as to what she had been doing before he arrived. He was fortunate he had spotted her. It was taking a risk, but he figured he could find her, and he did.

Bulma sighed, sitting down in the chair at the desk. She glanced over at the remote again and then back at Vejiita; he wasn't watching her. She quickly grabbed the remote and turned the security on. Lasers shot out from hidden guns, Vejiita was completely caught off guard. When the beams hit, Bulma made a break for safety, she didn't get far.

A furious Vejiita grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and litirally dragged her back to the crevase. She knew the system wouldn't do much, but she had thought that it would've had a greater affect. Throwing her back into the chair he grabbed the remote and smashed it, letting the broken pieces fall onto her lap. She sat there, silent, trembling.

Vejiita struggled to control his rage, the system she had set up had somehow managed to drain some of his energy. "What the hell was that?" he demanded. Bulma remained silent, fear held her tongue, "Tell me now, bitch, or your death will be a slow and painful one."

"It was based on a design I've been working on since Radittz had landed. It's rather complex, but the gist of it is: the lasers actually eat away at your ki, weakening it for short periods of time."

Vejiita studied her, "You designed this?" he quiered, "A simple Chikyuu native has the intelligenc to design such a weapon far beyond most of the universe's technology?"

Bulma hiked an eyebrow, "Who are you to judge me?" she demanded, "You know nothing about me!"

Vejiita didn't answer, he was thinking about her usefullness. 'When I rule the universe, I will need slaves like her.' He watched her carefully, making sure she didn't pull anything else.

The young Namek-jin watched and waited for his new friends to return. "They've been gone for too long." he commented, "I'm worried."

Dende turned to Guru and looked up at him questioningly. "You should find them." Nail answered, "We will need all the help we can get!"

"But what about Guru?" Dende asked, "I don't want to leave him!"

Guru smiled, "Your heart is kind, Dende and your intentions are good. But you need to go and find your friends. Nail is right, we need all the help we can get. I will still be here when you return."

Dende sighed, it was against his better judgement, but he left in search of Gohan and hopefully a savior.

Gohan reached the plateau and was relieved to find the dragonball right where he had left it. "Thank Kami Vejiita never found it!"

Gohan turned and headed back to camp, he had a bad feeling things were about to get worse.

Well, what did you think? I'm going to try and hurry through Namek since the so much of the story will take place off of the planet. Many of the things I don't write happen just as they do in the anime, that way I don't waste a lot of time on things that we already know. This way I can get to the good stuff! Anywho, please email me with comments and such. I love email!
